I think some of the other games in the series - e.g. the WWII one - used other rules... but I don't know that for sure, and can't recall what I found out when I originally posted these pieces, some while ago.Seb Palmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02825706166433888211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3515676111354157450.post-50715317457457631092017-11-24T18:48:57.425+00:002017-11-24T18:48:57.425+00:00The rules would have been Peter Gilder's origi...The rules would have been Peter Gilder's original GRAND MANNER rules. The figures and terrain they use were Peter Gilder's, so perhaps they used his rules as well? Same goes for the 'windage' stick... no ideas! Sorry I can't be more helpful. Perhaps someone else reading this might know?Seb Palmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02825706166433888211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3515676111354157450.post-23659031752429383612017-11-23T14:33:17.311+00:002017-11-23T14:33:17.311+00:00What rules set are they using and what's the n...What rules set are they using and what's the name of that windage stick? :)DMBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16747845180042156769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3515676111354157450.post-84211412817276284582014-10-26T17:59:46.012+00:002014-10-26T17:59:46.012+00:00Yes, good on Ed for boosting the 'wargaming is...Yes, good on Ed for boosting the 'wargaming is cool' factor! I know what you mean about 'how far things have come'. Nevertheless, I'd have happily watched a 2nd series! Despite the technical advances that have given us such series as Time Commanders, I still like the 'old school' vibe.

As a miniatures-based collector, painter and gamer, I really need to see figures on a table! For me Battleground, Callan, and the short film about Hinton Hunt & his Mrs, remain my favourite instances of 'wargaming in moving pictures'. All of this delving into the past also means I'm developing a secret yearning to try and attempt a modern miniatures-based updated version... But I could see why no series 2! It did make me realise how far things have come over the years. DaveDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11995593231170018770noreply@blogger.com
