And yes, I like you am very suspicious of Hitler's inner circle. Did Speer, or any others, like secretary Traudl Jung, for example, really behave as they claim to have done? The excellent film Downfall takes the testimonies of such people at face value. But one can't help but wonder if they weren't perhaps cutting their cloth to fit the times...Seb Palmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02825706166433888211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3515676111354157450.post-52939822400557889302019-02-06T07:54:29.092+00:002019-02-06T07:54:29.092+00:00Good review, thanks for taking the time write it. ...Good review, thanks for taking the time write it. Speer is a fascinating person who was clearly very fortunate in so many ways. He was extremely lucky not to be executed like others from Hitler's inner circle. From what I have read he clearly could be charming and I think he somehow convinced the allies that he wasnt such a bad person.I have always had my doubts as the inner circle clearly were desperate to ingratiate themselves with Hitler and therefore were quite prepared to do anything to achieve this.
